Donating, decluttering, PCS pointers, a lovely holiday gathering, and foooooood.
We've got massive decluttering ahead of us...let's clear out some of the lighter items by donating to a good cause. What used to be the location of Oki Hands Oki Hearts now appears to be a thrift joint called "D-Light."
I'm all about good causes, so I still donated it all (probably 100 lbs of clothing)...but I did like the premise behind Oki Hands. I guess I'll have to see if they're still around. Any leads?
The advice:
- Don't bring too much stuff to Okinawa...you'll likely have a smaller home, and getting rid of things here can be a chore.
- The main mobile carriers can be pricey...why not use a MVNO like Y! Mobile or UQ? I've been on Sakura Mobile (they use NTT Docomo's network) for over a year and it's great...$30 USD a month.
- Buy dependable vehicles from the get-go...I swear some people here go through vehicles like I go through running shoes...that can't be cheap, right?
