 A few quick things as military retirement approaches: 

1. Find your medical in-processing paperwork from when you entered service. This might be crucial to your application for benefits. For us older folks (late 90s joins), it might not be as easy to find...check your online personnel file or OMPF.

2. Make a budget sheet that captures your expected take-home pension, then make a second version that adds 50% disability rating compensation. While you're at it, make a third or even fourth version that capture higher ratings.
