VA Benefits Advisors - Okinawa

 If you're approaching your last year on active duty (look at it like being six months out from being six months out...), you might want to start attacking your medical, education, and other VA-related benefits goals.

I'd recommend booking a sit-down with your installation's VA Benefits Advisor at one year out.  This way, you've got six months to work on documenting your medical issues prior to your BDD application (180-90 days from EAS window).  It also serves as a good reminder to ensure your dependents are in your profile in the VA's system.  These folks can get quite busy, depending on your nearest installation.  Here on Okinawa, they already have a busy calendar for March of 2025.
